Didn't we have some fun though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said "Goodbye," and you were like "No way!" And then I was all, "We pretended we were going to murder you." That was great
That's a great cosplay there. I love the way you included her head. Also liking the hair. It's not often we see a GLaDOS interpretation that has long hair. (Too many people like the angled bob. Nothing against it, it's just nice to see a change of pace.)
Hehe, thank you I love the bobs too. I was considering a long style wig with the Lady Gaga fringe, but I stuck with the waves just to be different <3 The other GlaDOS' I saw at the con all had bobs or short hair styles X'D
Yeah the long hair helps you stand out. Heck, I like the bobs too, but when I came up with my own design for her, I challenged myself to steer clear of the popular trend of bodysuit and angled bob, and gave her a mad-scientist sort of smock and long hair.
(thanks to my having glasses, I'll probably never cosplay her. Foiled! XD)
I've just looked through your gallery and LOVE your version of the human GlaDOS. Very Gothic~ I remember seeing her in *TwinklePowderySnow's gallery before! The black and white hair is amazing <3 I think you cosplaying her would be wicked. No-one will care about dem glasses X'D But finding the contact lenses would be tricky as the rest of the eyeball is black.
I did consider having a bob from when someone commented on my original drawing on another account ;_; Implying, it wouldn't have been "modest & scientific" enough. True so. But I just loved the Femme Fatale look <3
Thank you! And yeah Twinkle's drawn her a couple times.
Oh I still think I might try cosplaying as her, I just don't know yet - I'm thinking locating something that looks enough like the optic and the head casing to fit over one eye but somehow be still see-through enough, and the wig would cover my other eye which is a bit derp. >_>
GLaDOS is a femme fatale, which is why I think it works.
I have two other ideas for cosplay - my askblog's character Cheryl (askagladosfangirl over at tumblr) who would just need test subject clothes, a bright red wig, long-fall boots, a portal gun, and a miniature GLaDOS model.
The other idea...well...that would take a good deal more work, would probably blind me thoroughly, restrict mobility, and require some expertise on how to make convincing "fake" metal, cables, hinges, wires, fiberglass, and system lights. (Yeah it's Portal 2 themed. I think you can guess what it is. And no, I'm not a Wheatley fan, so try again.) And I would need to be a good deal thinner, ahahaha. I'm not majorly overweight, but the slimmer the build the more convincing it'd look....
Well, if it's not Wheatley, I'm going to take a wild guess and say (it can't be the angry core, it's Portal 2 remember?!). I would say the space core or P body? I'm clutching at mind straws right now X''D
The best thing to use when making the robotic suits, is EVA foam ^^ They commonly use it for gym mats. It's good moulding while heated. And you can stick pieces together using a hot glue gun. But you need to coat it with like, 8 layers of PVA glue before you spray it. It's difficult to make it look smooth unless you use some sort of putty to then be sanded down around the edges. I'm still a beginner though. I personally have never done a fursuit either My friend has recording software on his own computer. I haven't a clue on how to use that either or to manipulate the voice X'D Damn, I'm such a derp with those things! I would also feel I was ripping off the voice actress if I did that. Ellen McLain is so sweeeeeet! ><
Yeah I know X'D We went through an airport on the trip home which would have been perfect! I did not make a happy face >< the headpice is made out of EVA foam. Coated with TONS of pva and sprayed with white spray paint.
